Weight Change Performance Estimator
Estimate how changing total bike-and-rider race weight could affect elapsed time and trap speed at unchanged power. Start with a representative full pass.
Enter −50 to remove 50, +25 to add 25, or 0 for no change. Use the selected weight unit.
Results update as you type.
Results
A rough empirical cube-root comparison, not a motorcycle-specific prediction. Assumes unchanged power, distance, weather, aerodynamics, gearing and comparable traction/launch performance. Weight placement, wheelies, clutch behavior and riding can dominate the result. Eighth-mile results use the same scaling as a rough extrapolation. Use the selected unit for vehicle weight, driver weight and weight change. Switching units relabels inputs; enter corresponding values.
Formula and assumptions
Current total = vehicle + driver. New total = current total + signed weight change. Estimated new ET = baseline ET × (new weight ÷ old weight)^(1/3). Estimated new MPH = baseline MPH × (old weight ÷ new weight)^(1/3).
