Shift Recovery Calculator
Calculate the engine RPM immediately after a gear change at unchanged road speed, and compare it with your chosen minimum powerband RPM.

Results
This is a kinematic estimate at unchanged road speed with a locked clutch. Acceleration during the shift, ignition cuts, clutch slip and tire growth can change measured recovery RPM. This is not a shift-point optimization based on engine torque.
Formula and assumptions
Recovery RPM = shift RPM × next gear ratio ÷ current gear ratio. RPM drop = shift RPM − recovery RPM. Required shift RPM to reach the chosen minimum = minimum recovery RPM × current ratio ÷ next ratio.
