Do I need an engine temperature sensor if I'm running a dry block?
YES, I always recommend an engine temperature sensor and it doesn't matter if you are running coolant or dry block. The temperature from the engine will radiate through the sensor and give you a temperature reading. There are many things within the software that can be manipulated with engine temperature. Engine start under fuel tables is the main reason why I recommend using an engine temperature sensor.
You can see in the table below temperature on the top row and the colored numbers are MS. MS is injector time, the larger the number equals more fuel, the smaller number means less fuel. When the engine is colder it needs more fuel than when the engine is hotter, if you do not have an engine temperature sensor your engine temp is considered to be 32* degrees fahrenheit and cannot be manipulated to adjust for cold and hot starts of the engine.

I have a KZ or GS engine, how can I add engine temperature?
When running a KZ or GS engine if you are running an outboard starter you do not need engine temperature to manipulate the engine start table like you see above. The outboard starter spins the engine over faster than the engine start rpm settings so it is not as critical to use.
When running self start I do recommend an engine temperature sensor or an oil temperature sensor and Liguori Drag Racing sells them. Contact us to purchase.

I have a Hayabusa. Is there an aftermarket engine temperature sensor I can use?
Yes, we recommend the Rife Sensors M12 x 1.5 liquid temp sensor and it will screw right into the factory location. Part number 52-1246. Below is the custom temperature calibration you need to put into the FuelTech software for this specific sensor.
When making a base map, how do I figure out the total flow of my injectors in LB/HR?
Figuring out the total flow of your injectors is simple when you know the lb/hr of your injectors. Simply just add or multiply them all together for primary flow.
EXAMPLE: 62 lb/hr X 4 injectors = 248 total lb/hr
If you only know your injector size in CC you have to do a little more simple math.
Injector CC divided by 10.5
61.9 lb/hr x 4 injectors = 247.6 total lb/hr
Unit conversions
LB/HR to CC multiply 10.5
CC to LB/HR divide 10.5
LB/HR to GPM divide 370
GPM to LB/HR multiply 370
