OUTPUTS:
Outputs: Blue, gray and yellow wires are outputs.
Blues are for injectors, solenoids or relays.
-Always ground triggered loads
-5 amp max
Grays are ignition outputs but can activate a relay if needed.
-Always ground triggered loads
-1 amp max
Yellows activate solenoids, relays or electric throttles. (No yellows on FT450)
-Active ground or 12v loads
-5 amp max
**Will sometimes trigger when you turn the key/switch on so I never put a shift solenoid or nitrous on it ever. Yellows rest at the opposite trigger load so if you are activated by ground it will rest as a 12V signal and vice versa when triggering by 12V, no this will not hurt your component but this is why it will sometimes trigger for a split second when turning on the main power.
SparkPro wiring:
-Correspond gray output wires from ECU to the gray input wires of the SparkPro.
Gray 2 to Gray 2
Gray 3 to Gray 3
Gray 4 to Gray 4
-Correspond green output wires from SparkPro to coils.
Green 2 to Coil/Cylinder 2. *Opposite of green wire on the coil will be switched 12V.
If using double coils on a KZ or GS Green 1 would fire coil for cylinders 1 and 4
If using double coils on a KZ or GS Green 2 would fire coil for cylinders 2 and 3
-Black/White grounding wires (2) can be connected to any clean ground on the engine/chassis/battery.
Injector wiring:
-Correspond blue output wires with injectors on each cylinder.
Blue 2 to Injector/Cylinder 2
Blue 3 to Injector/Cylinder 3
Blue 4 to Injector/Cylinder 4
Blue 2 to Injector/ Cylinder 2 and 3
-Switched 12V power to the other side of your injector.
-Most injectors are high impedance but if you do have a low impedance injector you will need a peak and hold injector driver.
Shift solenoid wiring:
Any blue output, make sure this is labeled to “Gear Shift Output” in your FuelTech output settings. This blue output will be your ground.
*Do not ground activate with a yellow output using “gear shift output”.
FT450: I recommend wiring 12V from your fuel pump relay. Meaning when your fuel pump is operating that means the shift solenoid will have 12V also.
FT500/FT550/FT600: I recommend using a yellow output for your 12V power. Labeled as “RPM Activated Output” in your output settings. Also make sure it is enabled in map options with a check mark next to it. You will find this feature in “other functions” (green tab) I commonly use 1000 RPMs and make sure the output signal is activated at 12V. Using RPM activated output it means that anytime your engine RPM is over the set RPM that it will send 12V to the solenoid.
Why do I recommend using the yellow RPM activated output or 12V fuel pump supply from the fuel pump relay?
It adds a level of protection against transmission damage because it requires the engine to be running in order to activate the solenoid. When you wire it directly to switched 12V power there is a chance you can bump the upshift button by accident when the power is on and the engine not running, this can result in transmission damage. FT450 ecus do not have yellow 12V outputs and that is why I recommend fuel pump power.
*Air shift solenoids are not polarity sensitive.
Mallet magnet wiring:
-Use a blue or gray output for magnet wiring, this will trigger ground. Labeled as either “Transbrake Solenoid” or “Line Lock Output” you will find these features in “Drag Race Features” (red tab) make sure it is enabled in map options with a check mark next to it.
-When using brake line lock control or transbrake you need to make sure this feature is active with 2-step and the output activation is 0V. Both features will work and hold the clutch handle when the 2-step is active with or without launch delay.
-12V Switched power to the opposite wire on the magnet.
*Magnet is not polarity sensitive.
Fuel pump wiring:
-Recommend any blue or gray output, make sure this is labeled “Fuel Pump” in your FuelTech output settings. This output will be ground activated and must go to a relay.
-You cannot run this output directly to the fuel pump ground.
-You will find this feature in “other functions” (green tab) and the output signal should be 0V.
-Control mode is timed and this is how long it will prime when the power is turned on.
Thermatic fan wiring:
-Recommend any blue or gray output, make sure this is labeled “Thermatic fan #1 -OR- #2” in your FuelTech output settings. This output will be ground activated and must go to a relay.
-You cannot run this output directly to the fan motor ground.
-You will find this feature in “other functions” (green tab) and the output signal should be 0V.
Progressive nitrous wiring:
-Recommend any blue or gray output, make sure this is labeled “Progressive nitrous output #1 -OR- #2” in your FuelTech output settings. This output will be ground activated and must go to a solid-state relay so the output can be progressed. -You cannot run this output directly to the solenoid ground.
-If you need a solid-state relay please contact Liguori Drag Racing.
-DO NOT use a yellow output for nitrous solenoid control.
*Nitrous solenoids are not polarity sensitive.
